I have to disagree with this. Learning the basics of anatomy, taking life drawing classes is one of the most valuable skills an artist has to learn. The difference in your abilities is immense when you invest time to it.
There’s nothing to be realistic about it, yes.
I’ve taken my first every life drawing class last week, and the amount of stuff we had to do was unreal. We had to do one minute poses, each overlapping, flipping the page this way and that. We have to fill from the edge, we had to draw blind, with our left-hand - anatomy is nothing about accuracy, that has never been the intention - it’s about expression and the freedom of which you put with it.
